It kind of drives me nuts that there are Valentine's Day things in stores already. Because then I have to think about Valentine's Day. And Valentine's Day is one of those days that just causes all kinds of inner turmoil. Because on the one hand, I know that it's crass and commercial and that it makes people who aren't in couples feel bad about themselves (having been in that place very many times myself), and that it encourages us to show emotions through materialism and not through actions. But then, I'm still a girl. And I still like flowers and shiny things and chocolates and presents in general. And I can't help it! I don't want to be drawn in by the comercialism, but it's soo shiny! So I don't really know what the point of this is, but I just thought I'd put that out there.

"Now where did those double A's go?"
The Day of Evil!!!
Nothing wrong with being in love and showing it.
The very fact that this is sold in department stores should tell you that it is wrong though!
Yep!
Evil.
Evil.
Because it uses guilt to make people buy things!
Most foul.

Date: 2005-01-13 08:24 pm (UTC)Aside from all that though I love to go get kiddie valentines the day after for cheap and send them to people at odd times of the year because no one suspects that you would think that they are a "cutie pie" or that "mrs salt and mr pepper" would come around to spice up your day on any day except for valentines day. In a way it's like beating the system.
