Hint, hint

Um, just a hint. When you call someone and ask them to remind you what specifically you asked for for Christmas and that person knows you're in the mall, it kind of takes away the element of surprise.

But then again, my parents always have a way of surprising me for Christmas anyway.

PS- I want my PBK pin and a UU chalice necklace. For certain individuals who may be looking for what to buy me.

ooooh, oooh

I forgot. Two key and major developments.
You all know that I like my job, right? My boss is very funny and the office is friendly and they're very flexible about my hours, which brings me joy. I was kinda bummed b/c I was only contracted to December, and I finish on Friday. But then my boss asked me if I want to come back next semester. So even more joy. Other people's lives aren't so shiny, but they can take up their own blog space with their problems.

And, I am getting a new housemate. The girl who lives next door is moving out, and she's being replaced on Jan. 1. With a new girl, who has a cat. The problem is if the new cat and Emily don't get along, cat fights might ensue. Emily is sweet- she spent all afternoon yesterday and most of the night with me, which was nice b/c upon my return from work I had a ad headache. Took Excedrin and a shower and snuggled in the bed. Oh, how I love my bed.

Also was pleasantly surprised this week by majorly speedy delivery from amazon- qualified for super-saver shipping, and since I'm poor, I took it. Stuff got here in 48-72 hours. :) And I plan on going to Giant in Columbia Heights tomorrow and acquiring Pierogie. B/c they don't have any at the nearby Safeway and this one is near church. The joyous things one can discover on the internet.

Why on the We Are Robots page do I get google ads on the side for "Free Christian Images" and "Religious Cartoons"? I get some pretty weird google ads in gmail (keyword searches lead to funniness), but I'm missing something here.

Please explain (since your IQ is so high).

So, this was inspired by an icon I saw in another community.

I now live in Washington DC. The nation's capital. Where the President lives. No matter who he is (though the current one seems to prefer Texas). 90% of DC voted for Kerry in the last election. We're his neighbors, people. Doesn't it say something when the people who live where Bush lives think he's doing a bad job? Yeah, I know he doesn't run DC, but still. If you were dating a person, and everyone who lived in his/her building said that person was not someone you wanted to date, wouldn't you maybe think twice about it? If they all worked with that person and shopped in the same stores? And noticed that that person wasn't particularly interested in doing his/her part to keep the building in repair?

Which could lead me into a big rant about how DC really ought to be better taken care of, as it is the capital, and it kind of reflects poorly on the USA to have so many homeless people and such bad public schools in the same town as the federal gov't. But I'm hungry.
