There is a part of me that hopes this really is the end of the world. Which is dumb. But I just feel like there are so many signs. And in heaven everything would be better. No, I'm not going to kill myself, so don't get all excited. It never even occured to me.
But I will inform you of other things, b/c you're all sick of reading about the election.
Kate is coming on Friday. This brings me much joy.
Mel Stottlemyre is leaving the Yankees. This makes me sad.
The semicolon key came off my computer. I can get it close to reattached, but not close enough. Oh well.
I put out a fire today. While waiting for the bus, I noticed smoke coming from what would be the gutter if there were one (you know, that spot where the road meets the curb). I walked over to see what it was. A piece of paper was burning, most likely due to a tossed cigarette. While paper doesn't burn so well, dry leaves do. I thought a fire was to be avoided. So I stepped on the glowing red paper and smothered it. I am a good citizen. And people who toss lit cigarettes are not.
On my walk to my group meeting (which was held in place of class), I was thinking about what I have to be happy about/grateful for.
I have parents who love and support me, and who always have.
I have wonderful friends, who make me think, who make me laugh, who make me feel loved and cherished, and who support me.
I have a boyfriend who is handsome and funny and smart and who makes me feel beautiful and makes me laugh and smile.
I have a church filled with like minded people that nourishes my spirit.
I have the right to vote.
I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, indoor plumbing, electricity, and heat. On top of that, I have internet access, cable (w/ HBO and Showtime), and a computer.
I have access to public transportation and free museums and the Library of Congress. And easy access to protest marches!
I got 16 years of education at practically no cost.
I have had teachers that I feel I can count as friends.
I have been to something like 38 states and 6 countries.
I have two hands, two arms, two feet, two legs, two lungs, two kidneys, two eyes, two ears, 8 fingers, two thumbs, 10 toes, a heart, a stomach, a liver, a pancreas, a spleen, a uterus, two ovaries, and all kinds of other internal organs and sensory organs, all of which are functioning within acceptable parameters.
I have this planet, which is filled with such astounding beauty as to leave me without words.
I can read. I can write. I can read and write what I want (unless I'm being watched by the FBI).
I have faith. In humanity, the universe, and God (and the Yankees).
And I have a list of things to be grateful for so long, I had to use an lj-cut.
