Well, what kind of astronauts and cavemen are we talking about here?
Do you mean the very first cavemen, just barely a step above animal behavior? Or are do you mean cavemen towards the end of that era, as they started to make actual shelters, hunted for food, etc?
And astronauts - beginning of the space program, with all it's Apollo 13-type problems, or present day astronauts, where some of them are multi-billionaires who are just along for the ride and others are highly intelligent scientific geniuses discovering new galaxies?
You've got to elaborate upon the details, for sure. If they are astronauts from the modern day (like, apollo moon mission type people who went to the moon, and whatnot...), then they'd have to be pretty good at fighting with other people (like hand-to-hand combat type of deal). If they were, like, star trek style astronauts (if they're even called astronauts at that point in the 24th century...), then they'd definitely (by which I mean to say, for sure) have an advantage (by which I mean to say, the upper hand).
If these clarifications are not made, one cannot be able to make a decision between the two... It might be a fight to the death (ancient roman style, like in the Colosseum).
I think that the cavemen win. I was going to write a long story about how this is possible but it was just getting way way way to long and bizarre. The short version is that it is modern day astronauts (we are assuming they are americans) who have traveled back in time due to a strengthing of the space program. They are fat because Americans despite all their studies will never figure out how to eat right since they won't change their ways. And the cavemen will be able to out fight them as a result. I'm guessing it is going to be a we come in peace type of situation that will still freak out the cave men because they aren't prepared for spaceships so they will throw rocks at the astronauts. And the astronauts will not be ready to return fire because they are lazy and fat.

This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
