I must admit, I've suspected Ron and Hermione (which I still think sounds better pronounced properly, i.e., as a Greek name, which it patently is) would eventually date pretty much since the first book as well, and since I, too, subscribe to the theory that Harry will either not outlive the series (and in any event, I think Ginny will grow out of it and I think isolation is just built into Harry's character--witness orphaning thrice over between biological parents, the Dursleys as adoptive parents (who essentially abandon him) and Sirius (who becomes like a father figure and then has the poor taste to die), being set apart because of the scar reception incident, and lack of strong connections between him and any one except Weasleys and Hermione and Dumbledore), it sort of makes sense that Ron and Hermione will somewhat naturally fall back on one another. Although I think Ron and Hermione will be very much like Cor and Aravis, who got so used to fighting and making up that they married so as to do it more conveniently. How's that for convoluted sentences? --Albert
