observations on sleep

I like sleep. I like it best early in the morning, which is a problem for the getting up and going to work/class. I like it in the winter, buried under piles of blankets. Last night was the earliest I'd been to sleep in a while, since Gabe had to get up early today and therefore had to go to sleep early, and so we got off the phone before midnight. And I have discovered something. I already knew this, but I can't sleep without covers. The heavier, the better. Not the warmer, the better, since a high body temperature is a fundamental property of the Evelyn, but the heavier. I woke up in the middle of the night, and pulled a heavy throw over me, and then slept like a baby the rest of the night. I think I feel more protected, though goodness knows from what. Maybe the blanket is a surrogate man- makes me feel like someone is holding me, which I desperately wish someone was most nights.
I spend too much time on my computer talking to my AU friends to be getting any cuddling from the parental units, and so I am feeling cuddle deprived.
I am watching tv without my glasses or contacts, which is a poor plan, but I can't find my glasses, and I took the contacts out to shower after coming back from the gym. (The new Curves, which I just joined, and is fun and only 30 minutes, yay).
I am waiting impatiently for this temp assignment to be over, as it is driving me nuts. On the plus side, while listening to the phone ring, I have written poetry, for the first time in years. Perhaps later I shall post some, if you are very good children...
Watching Queer Eye. Kyan is currently instructing a man on the proper use of various grooming products, which always amazes me, since he buys them more than I own, or would use. I don't have the discipline for that kind of self-maintence routine. No one seems to mind though.
Ok, done now...
