Friday, I cleaned my room (which was good, even though mildly unecessary as my parents never once set foot in my house), did laundry, and then met my parents, had dinner, and went to the Nats/Orioles game. Which was fun, even if the rivalry is non-existant.
Saturday, we went to the Museum Studies pre-graduation luncheon, and I think I got asked out on a date (on the phone). Then we went to the graduation ceremony, where I got a very shiny new pen.
Then we went to the mall near my parents' hotel, where we had dinner and walked around alot. We went to J.Jill where I saw a shirt that I loved and did the whole "Mom you should buy this for me" bit without actually saying that. She didn't buy it for me though. I also saw these incredibly soft pillows and blankets at Brookstone (I seriously did not want to stop touching them). I'm tempted to go back and get one...
Anyway, when we got back to the hotel, it turns out that my mother had already bought me the aforementioned shirt, and when we were in the store was afraid I was just going to up and buy it for myself. Which I didn't. Also inclduded in this gift was another shirt and two pairs of pants. I like it when the parents come to visit.
Sunday, we went to the ceremony out on the Mall, which was huge and crazy. People protested George H. W. Bush and weirdly others cheered Reagan's name, even though they can't possibly have any coherent memory of Reagan, because they're younger than me, and I barely remember him. Because he left office when I was 6.
Then we walked around and went to Ford's Theater and had a nice dinner and went back the hotel. We were all a bit sunburned.
Monday I slept and did laundry while the parents drove back home. Today I had a strange dream featuring Tom Cruise, got put to work as soon as I arrived at the office, and had my horoscope come true. My horoscope was "Cleverness and a willingness to take more time than you planned will pay off handsomely." I was flexible with the tour group and got a $20 tip for my troubles, and they tipped my driver too, which meant I didn't have to split it. And I had hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps for dessert tonight.
I'm bummed I couldn't be at church on Sunday, because I'm listening to the sermon now, and I'm so in love with my minister. There was this huge conference of The Network of Spiritual Progressives there this week, and it must have been glorious.
Anyway, life doesn't suck, and I've been in PJs since 6, and I have the socks I need for work that are the little footie ones where you can be wearing socks with shoes that don't cover much and still not have the socks show. The government is still moronic, but I had lots of chocolate today.
