There are days when I really, really want my own place. A refridgerator and cabinets with only my groceries, place to store things like a crock pot and my lemonade maker, the ability to paint my walls whatever color I like, no one in the bathroom when I need/want to use it, no one playing music too loudly, no one in the kitchen when I'm cooking, only my trash in the trash can, no one throwing trash in the recycling bin, etc. I probably would have an apartment, so there would be limitations- I'd still have to share a laundry room (though I'd really like to get one of one of these and one of these when I can), I'd still have noisy neighbors, I'd still have a landlord who would have to approve certain things (though the nice thing about landlords is that they have to do certain repairs and such), but it would be my place. And what's funny is that just now I thought, "it would be really great if I had my own place so that I could offer it up to all of my friends as a place to crash, not just for a weekend, but for longer if they needed it." Not that I want my home to be a halfway house, but my fantasy home is a big house on an island where I have way more bedrooms than I actually need for my family and my friends can come and stay as long as they like, whenever they like, whether it's overnight after a party, or forever. I don't want people freeloading, but I would love to be a safe haven.

Your Birthdate: July 6

A birthday on the 6th of the month adds a tone of responsibility, helpfulness, and understanding to your natural inclinations.
Those born on the sixth are more apt to be open and honest with everyone, and more caring about family and friends, too.
This is a number associated with responsibility and caring - this birthday lends a degree of concern for others.

Interestingly, I'm also a Cancer:
Cancer is symbolized by the Crab. You're deeply emotional and intuitive, and your top concern is family. Something of a homebody, you prefer to stay in rather than go out on the town. You can be moody, drawing into your protective shell if things get too intense around you.

And I was born in the year of the Dog.
In the West, the Dog is man's best friend, but in Chinese Astrology this Sign is a little more unpredictable than that. Dogs are loyal, faithful and honest and always stick to their firm codes of ethics. However, this Sign has trouble trusting others. It's generally quite trustworthy itself -- except for the occasional "little white lies" the Dog tells in order to make things go more smoothly. The Dog makes a wonderful, discreet and loyal friend (despite any white lies) and is an excellent listener. This Sign tends to root for the underdog and its keen sense of right and wrong makes it duty-bound to the core. The Dog's mantra seems to be, Live right, look out for the little people and fight injustice whenever possible.

Now, I don't put much stock in this, because the way most of these profiles are written a person can find something that describes them and there's some psych term for that, much like people reading descriptions of mental illnesses will start to think they have chronic depression or bipolar disorder or multiple personalities or whatever, even when they don't. And the Sun signs are from so long ago that they don't even match up any more. But I think it's interesting how they all match up to make me someone who wants to stay home and take care of people, moody, loyal, and stubborn. Of course, there's also usually something that I don't think is true about me, for example, while I'm definitely a homebody, Martha Stewart has nothing to fear from me.
