Grrr Argh. I am dizzy. Literally. It feels like the room is moving. I think this may have to do with my not having breakfast (aside from a granola bar) and having lunch quickly. My blood sugar's in a fun place. And the florescent lights don't help. Nor does the fact that we have recieved 3 applications so far, and each of them has something wrong with it. This does not make for a happy Evelyn. My office is also pretty warm, which is not so fun. Mayhaps we will open the window and that will help.
I have just turned off the lights, and that seems to be helping a bit, though it makes it kinda dark for the working....
Ok, back to work. Though what I really want is just to curl up in bed. But I can't, b/c when I get home I have to go to the grocery store and procure food, as I don't know what I'm having for dinner and there's not much for my to drink in the fridge, and do homework. Like read and write papers and decide on a topic for my Term Paper for Museum Theory. How much for a flight to Italy leaving tomorrow?

Think of 3 pictures you'd like to see. Things around my house, or whatever. Something I can take a picture of easily! I will try to honor requests for things in the District too, but not for things that are hard to get to (eg the top of the Washington Monument).

Have fun, and once I've gathered up all the requests, I'll make a post of the ones I manage to get a picture of.

I have a digital camera, which makes this easier. Please keep your requests PG.

Bush wants to create "a culture of life." Now I have issues with him saying this. If he really believes in the sanctity of life, why did his state, Texas, execute more people than any other state while he was governor? (It's not just because they have so many people)
And, if he's so interested in reducing the number of abortions, why doesn't he propose the one thing that is most likely to do that: promote birth control. He bans partial-birth abortion, supports group maternity homes and abstinence programs in school, but really doesn't do anything to help people not get pregnant. Yeah, the easiest way to not get pregnant is to not have sex, but let's be realistic. For as long as there has been marriage, there has been premarital sex. But if you teach girls to respect their bodies, and teach boys to respect their bodies, and teach them to respect each other's bodies, and teach them how to have safe, responsible sex, you reduce the demand for abortions. If you treat rape like a real crime, that helps too. Pretending that the solution is "Just Say No" is stupid and dangerous. And if you want to create a "culture of life" you should demonstrate to everyone a belief in the sanctity of life: human rights, living wage, decent health care, no death penalty, and avoiding war at all costs. Nothing I've seen from this president demonstates that he actually believes in the sanctity of human life- merely that his base believes fetuses are people and so he does too.
I won't even start with his bs about advocate judges overturning laws that the people want. Or the nonsense about the sanctity of marriage.
Maybe I should run for president....
