Love: Well, that's an easy one. I don't just mean the romantic candy and kisses kind, though that's certainly nice and I'd like more of it in my life, but the kind of love that finds you facing down your best friend who's about to end the world and telling her that you love her, and the kind of love that finds you standing between your son and the most powerful wizard in the world. The kind of love that makes you willing to give up the choicest strawberries so your child can have his first taste. The kind of love that Paul's talking about in 1 Corinthians 13, that is not proud or boastful but patient and hopeful (which incidentally, is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and, while very useful in marriage, not the kind of love most people who have this passage read at their weddings think it's about). The kind of love that makes everything more endurable when you know that you are the object of it. That's the kind of love I mean.
Labyrinth: OK, number one, it's got David Bowie in spandex pants. Number two, it has muppets. I don't really know what else there is for me to say about this movie. Except that it's what I watch when I have a migraine, because muppets make everything better.
Ludo: He's the big red muppet who calls the rocks in Labyrinth. And he's big and furry and just crying out to be cuddled with. And example that monsters are on the inside, not the outside.
Latin: Because I'm a big old nerd. I used to go to the NYSJCL (New York State Junior Classical League) conventions in high school. I still have the t-shirts. They're big conferences of nerds, where you do things like play Cartamen (which is basically Latin Quiz Bowl) and sit in a big room and take tests on Latin grammar and Roman mythology and history (and do other less dorky things too). I won myself quite a few ribbons, too. And then I can go to old churches in Europe and read things and feel smart (I broke down crying in Westminster Abbey after reading too many Latin inscriptions). Plus, Mrs. Janick, my teacher, kicked lots of ass.
Libraries: Books! Lots of books, for free! What is there not to like? They smell good and they are quite and there are librarians there, and librarians are very super cool people, even if they aren't all like Giles.
Lemonade: Yummy yummy yummy. Regular lemonade, pink lemonade, strawberry lemonade, raspberry lemonade. I loves it. My parents even bought me a lemonade maker which is super awesome. I'm going to try to see if I can find a good recipe to make lemonade with honey this summer.
Liberal: It's a label I'm proud to wear. You can read my userinfo to find out why. I'm not about to let people turn it into an insult. The word liberal comes from a Middle English word that means "generous." Dictionary.com defines it as "showing or characterized by broad-mindedness" or "Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded." And I like to think that that's what I am.
Life: I really do like life. Even when it's not going the way I want it to, I still think it's pretty awesome.
Livejournal: Now, this may seem like cheating, but I do actually really value it. I learn a lot about people and it helps me stay more connected with people far away and it supplements my dreadful lack of real-life social interaction (now, the question is, does it damage it?). Plus, there's nothing like good LJ Drama for a little entertainment.
