And without the dashes and with an extra o in Monohydrate, it is in fact real.

It kills the bacteria. They say you only need to use it in the night-time diapers, so it's basically meant to act on the germs that would cause a rash when the baby sleeps in a wet/dirty diaper. They also say to change diapers frequently, which helps.
Considering a) the popularity of disposable diapers now, and b) the age of most of the medicines I work with here, the product is almost certainly no longer manufactured.
