Friday-five
If you knew you were going to die on at specific day at a specific time, what's the last...
1. song you would listen to?
"Flying Home" from Songs For a New World. It's actually the song I want played at my funeral. And I know it's weird that I know that and that it's still one of my favorite songs, but I love it. I always feel exhilirated when it's over.
2. book you would read? Part of me wants to say Passage by Connie Willis, but that might not be the best book to read right before you died, even though it's about death. In the Thursday Next books, the Granny can't die until she reads the X number most boring books in the world. I don't think I'd go for boring though. Maybe To Say Nothing of the Dog, because it's my favorite.
3. person you would talk to? Well, part of that would depend on who was still alive. And it would depend on how I was going to die and a few other factors. But probably either my Mom or Kate. I'd probably call one and then the other. And also, the others don't both me but this question feels so morbid.
4. food you would eat? A really, really good piece of chocolate. Like made by blind nuns in the Swiss Alps kind of good.
5. goal you would accomplish?
I don't know. I have goals I want to accomplish before I die, but I wouldn't say "let me have kids" knowing that I would die before they grew up. And I can't think of any one thing that would win out over everything else. Actually, I just thought of something, but I try to keep this journal PG-13, so I'm not going to tell you what it was.
